My family, consisting of me, my husband, 2 boys (aged 13 and 11) and Tom the dog stayed here from 30 June for a few nights.
Every home comfort is catered for, dogs welcome, I really felt at home in a tranquil and relaxing environment. I will be back soon !
Wonderful accommodation, beautifully furnished and decorated (especially the wallpapers!) in a perfect village location. Very welcoming, with cake and freshly new laid eggs to greet you on arrival! I very... read more much enjoyed my early morning tea sitting in the little wildlife garden. The Blue Barn is an absolute delight to stay in and we hope to visit again next time we are in the area.
We were... read more met but Kate on arrival who showed us around the barn and informed us of the local walks. We had a van and a car with us (our son raced at the PFI Kart track in Grantham) and Kate allowed us to park the van on their driveway, which was very kind and amenable.
The barn had a few treats which were devoured on arrival. The kitchen is handmade and well equipped with delightful; there’s even the basics there; salt, pepper etc. All very well thought out. The lounge/diner has two seating areas, a round dining table and 4 chairs with 2 armchairs adjacent and then a lounge area with sofa, beanbag and chair. There’s a smart TV and delightful wood burner with plenty of wood for a couple of days. The beds are firm with lovely linens and plenty of extra blankets. There’s adequate storage for clothes etc in the rooms, with some nice lighting touches. The main bathroom is fab; the bath is big and there’s plenty of hot water. The shower in the en-suite is also wonderful. Lots of fluffy white towels.
The garden is small but adequate size for a few chairs/loungers. There’s a lot of plants including herbs and it’s a haven for birds. The roads are quiet and there’s a playground a few hundred yards away.
We ate at the Full Moon Pub - only 1/2 mile from the Blue Barn - food was good and wine was tasty.
We’d love to stay here again.
