Booking Terms & Conditions

Please be aware: Our prices DO include all bed linen and towels.

GENERAL:

A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation; this secures Blue Barn for your requested stay. The remaining balance then becomes payable by cash upon arrival, or BACS 14 days prior to arrival. 

Your booking is not confirmed until you receive confirmation and have paid the required deposit.

All guests and pets must be listed at time of booking, extra guests are not permitted unless prior arrangements have been made.

Please contact us for longer term stays and business enquiries.

Please ensure you have taken out adequate travel/holiday insurance to provide cover should you need to cancel your stay for whatever reason, including covid-19.

COVID 19:

– If the country or our local area goes into lock down again, your booking deposit will be fully refunded. If the area guests are travelling from go into lock down and guests are thus unable to travel, a credit note will be issued or a date transfer, we are unable to refund deposits. 

– Guests must not travel to Blue Barn if they or any member of their group are unwell with covid-19 symptoms prior to their upcoming visit, and agree to notify us immediately. A credit note or date transfer will be issued, we cannot offer a refund.

– If guests become unwell with covid-19 symptoms during their stay, they must notify us and return home immediately to isolate if well enough to do so. If guests are unable to drive/return home, they must remain at Blue Barn to isolate for 7-14 days and will be liable for rental at the full listed price for the period they continue to occupy Blue Barn.

– If guests do need to isolate at Blue Barn, they must not leave to go to shops etc. Kate or Chris will deliver medicines, food supplies and extra cleaning materials outside the entrance door (medicine/food items at guest cost). A linen bag will also be placed outside the door for guests to place all linens in (bed linens, pillow protectors, matress protectors, bath towels and mats, kitchen linens etc).

– A covid-19 risk assessment is in place, a copy is available in Blue Barn along with a ‘what to do’ card should guests develop symptoms during their stay.

– We ask and trust all guests to follow the current Government Guidelines regarding Covid-19.

Dogs are very welcome to stay at Blue Barn; we kindly ask that you do not allow them upon the beds. Please bring your dog/s crate, bedding, bowls etc. We encourage guests to bring throws/covers if they would like their dogs to sit on the sofa with them/sleep on the bedroom floors. Spare throws are available to cover the sofa/bedroom carpets if needed. Additional charges may be incurred if furnishings are damaged by pets.

 

No-smoking policy within Blue Barn, smoking is permitted in the garden only. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the designated sand tin outside the shed door.

Weekend stays: Cancellation with 21 days’ notice will receive a full refund minus £30 administration charges. Any less notice will be subject to 100% of total stay cost.

Mid-week, weekly and longer stays: Cancellation with 42 days’ notice will receive a full refund minus £30 administration charges. Any less notice will be subject to 100% of total stay cost.

Bookings will not be accepted from persons under 18 years of age.

It is recommended you take out holiday/travel insurance to cover you in such circumstances. There is no allowance or reduction for curtailment of a reservation.

Please report any breakages or spillages, accidents do happen and we can replace items promptly! A charge may be made if damages are not reported, or if items are removed from Blue Barn without consent.

Use of Blue Barn and its associated amenities are at guests risk at all times; no responsibility can be accepted for injury, loss or damage to visitors and their belongings, however so caused.

In the unlikely event that Blue Barn is subsequently unavailable through events arising outside of our control, your booking may be cancelled. In such circumstances, we will inform you as soon as possible and provide a full refund.

Weekend bookings are taken from Friday (check-in 16.00 to 20.00) to Sunday (check-out 11.00); you are welcome to book the Sunday night too if available to have a long weekend break.

Midweek breaks are from Monday to Friday.

Week long bookings normally start Friday to Friday, unless by agreement.

Terms & Conditions

The promoter is Blue Barn – Country Retreat

The competition is open to anyone 18 years or over except employees of Blue Barn – Country Retreat and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

We have the right to allow more than one entry per competition at times. We will notify specifically in the post if this is the case

Closing date for entry will be stated in the post of the Facebook page. After this date, the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.

No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.

The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

The prize will be clearly stated in the Facebook Post.

The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

Winners will be chosen at random via the software platform that we will share if anyone wants to know more.

The winner will be notified by private message on Facebook and within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.

The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts.

The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
