Booking Terms & Conditions

Please be aware: Our prices DO include all bed linen and towels.

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

A 50% deposit is required to book a reservation; the remaining balance then becomes payable by cash upon arrival, or BACS 14 days prior to arrival. 

A booking is not confirmed until guests receive confirmation from the owner.

A confirmed booking is made on the condition that Blue Barn is to be occupied by the guests for a holiday or vacation as mentioned in the Housing Act 1988 Schedule 1 (paragraph 9); the guests acknowledge that the tenancy granted by a confirmed booking is not an assured tenancy, and no statutory periodic tenancy will arise when the booking ends. 

All guests and pets must be listed at time of booking. Guests’ right to occupy Blue Barn may be forfeited without compensation if more people arrive than have been booked and paid for at the time of booking; if any illegal activity is undertaken, and any unreasonable damage is made/caused to Blue Barn.

Blue Barn is a NO SMOKING property.

Please ensure you have taken out adequate travel/holiday insurance to provide cover should you need to cancel your stay for whatever reason, including covid-19, adverse weather, transport problems/disruptions etc. 

Use of Blue Barn and its associated amenities are at guests’ risk at all times; no responsibility can be accepted for personal injury to, or death of, any guests’ or visitors to Blue Barn  and any loss or damage to their belongings or property, however so caused.

COVID 19:

– If the country or our local area goes into lock down again, the booking deposit will be fully refunded. If the area guests are travelling from go into lock down and guests are thus unable to travel, a credit note of 6 months will be issued or a date transfer within 6 months, deposits are not refundable. It is the responsibility of guests to ensure they have appropriate travel insurance. 

– Guests must not travel to Blue Barn if they or any member of their group test positive for Covid-19 prior to their upcoming visit, and agree to notify the owners immediately. A credit note of 6 months will be issued or a date transfer within 6 months will be issued, deposits are not refundable. It is the responsibility of guests to ensure they have appropriate travel insurance. 

– If guests become unwell with covid-19 symptoms during their stay, they must notify the owners immediately. 

 

– We ask and trust all guests to follow the current Government Guidelines regarding Covid-19.

– If guests would like to discuss anything relating to covid-19 further, please contact Kate 07792 815 021 prior to booking. Thank you. 

 

Dogs are very welcome to stay at Blue Barn; we kindly state that they are not allowed upon the beds. Please bring your dog/s crate, bedding, bowls etc. We encourage guests to bring throws/covers if they would like their dogs to sit on the sofa with them/sleep on the bedroom floors. Spare throws are available to cover the sofa/bedroom carpets if needed. A dog essentials box is available should any items be forgotten. Please wipe down/clean dog paws prior to entering the Barn when wet and muddy. Additional charges may be incurred if furnishings are damaged by pets.

 

NO SMOKING in Blue Barn or the attached shed. Smoking is permitted in the garden only, please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly. A sand tin is available upon request.

In the event of cancellations, the Owner will try to re-let the accommodation, if successful the balance of the remaining cost will not be due. Cancellation requests must be sent in writing to the owner (), please note deposits are not refundable. It is the responsibility of potential guests/guests to arrange holiday insurance to cover for such circumstances. A credit note or date transfer (to be used within 6 months) may be available, but is at the discretion of the owner.  

Bookings will not be accepted from persons under 18 years of age.

It is recommended you take out holiday/travel insurance to cover you in such circumstances. There is no allowance or reduction for curtailment of a reservation.

Please report any breakages or spillages, accidents do happen and we can replace items promptly! A charge may be made if damages are not reported or are caused by carelessness, or if items are removed from Blue Barn without consent.

Guests are to keep Blue Barn, including all furniture, fixtures, fittings, linens etc in the same state of repair as found at the start of occupation (photos are taken during each changeover for clarity). Guests are to leave Blue Barn in the same order and cleanliness that it was found.

The owner must be contacted immediately if a guest finds a cause for complaint regarding Blue Barn, this must be done whilst staying at Blue Barn so that it can be reviewed in person by the owner if necessary and rectified if deemed necessary by the owner. No compensation will be considered for complaints made after the holiday at Blue Barn has ended, or if guests have denied the owner the opportunity to rectify any complaints during the holiday.

In the unlikely event that Blue Barn is subsequently unavailable through events arising outside of our control, your booking may be cancelled. In such circumstances, we will inform you as soon as possible and provide a full refund.

Terms & Conditions

The promoter is Blue Barn – Country Retreat

The competition is open to anyone 18 years or over except employees of Blue Barn – Country Retreat and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

We have the right to allow more than one entry per competition at times. We will notify specifically in the post if this is the case

Closing date for entry will be stated in the post of the Facebook page. After this date, the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.

No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.

The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

The prize will be clearly stated in the Facebook Post.

The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

Winners will be chosen at random via the software platform that we will share if anyone wants to know more.

The winner will be notified by private message on Facebook and within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.

The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts.

The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current [UK] data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
